Fort Worth and Denver Depot

Lubbock, Texas

This depot was built in 1928 when the Fort Worth and Denver Railway reached Lubbock. The Spanish Renaissance Revival depot was designed by Wyatt C. Hedrick, who also designed buildings in the same style on the campus of Texas Tech University. Freight and passenger service was discontinued in 1953, and the building now houses the Buddy Holly Center.
