Southern Pacific and Missouri Pacific Depot

Hearne, Texas

This depot was built in 1901 and served both the Southern Pacific and Missouri Pacific railroads. Union Pacific acquired both railroads in the 1980s and planned to demolish the depot, but local residents intervened to preserve it. The depot was moved to its current location north of the tracks, and following restoration, was reopened as a museum in 2011.
