This freight depot was built in 1925 by the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe, a subsidiary of the Atchinson, Topeka, and Santa Fe. It is located on the western edge of downtown, at the corner of Peabody and South Austin Street, and Burlington Northern and Santa Fe trains still run right by the depot several times a day.
