Lavaca County Courthouse
Hallettsville, Texas
The current Lavaca County courthouse was built in 1899 and designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style by Houston architect, Eugene T. Heiner. This courthouse is one of only six surviving Texas courthouses designed by Heiner and was the final Texas courthouse designed by Heiner before his death in 1901. The courthouse has a cruciform plan and is built with sandstone quarried in Muldoon and Mineral Wells, Texas.
